Using the Maps Process in Wraparound

This training will define and describe person-centered planning and the process for facilitating it using the Making Action Plans (MAPs) process. The differences between system-centered and person-centered will be discussed and explained. Tools for creative facilitation will be reviewed and the participants will learn how to draw a portion of their dreams. The MAPs process will be detailed and participants will learn how to conduct a MAP and integrate the MAP into the Wrap Plan.

After attending you will be able to:

  • Identify the steps involved in person-centered planning using a MAP.
  • Look into the future and share a portion of your own personal dream.
  • Provide instruction and techniques to empower individuals in developing goal planning skills, identifying needs, and generating action plans.

Audience: Safe at Home, Children’s Mental Health Wraparound Facilitators, and Mobile Crisis Providers
